Bill Baker is Chairman and founder of The Baker Companies, a residential and commercial real estate development corporation. Since its founding in 1966, the companies have grown into one of the largest real estate development companies throughout the East Coast. Bill is a member of the Board of Trustees of Georgetown University Medical School where he has been a leader in the school’s expansion. He is also a member of the Board of the MUSC Foundation.
Reese Boyd III is a native of Conway and has practiced law in Horry County for twelve years. Boyd’s legal practice focuses on commercial disputes and general civil litigation, probate, trust and estate litigation, business formations and consulting, as well as aviation law and consulting.
Before entering private practice, Boyd previously served as vice president and counsel to a large asset management and financial services firm in Boston, Massachusetts. Prior to that he served as counsel to former South Carolina Governor Carroll A. Campbell, Jr., both as Legal Counsel to the Governor in the S.C. Governor’s Office, and during Campbell’s tenure as Chairman of the American Council of Life Insurers in Washington, D.C.
Boyd earned a B.A. in Economics from Davidson College, and later received his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he was selected as a member of the Moot Court Bar and received an American Jurisprudence award for Appellate Advocacy. Boyd is a member of the South Carolina Bar, and is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina, as well as the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals. Boyd was awarded the Order of the Palmetto for his work in state government by former South Carolina Governor Carroll A. Campbell, Jr.
Dennis Burt founded Brandmark, Inc., a manufacturer of product ID labels and specialty packaging which he currently owns and manages. He attended Davidson College and is a graduate of Limestone College. Previous board service includes Haven of Rest Ministries and AnMed Health Ambassadors. Dennis currently serves on the Anderson University Board of Visitors and Anderson County Economic Development Advisory Board. He has been resident of Anderson, SC since 1971.
Dennis is a Charter Member of Christ Church, Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Anderson SC where he has served as a teacher and Ruling Elder for most of its 26 years. He is the father of two sons and three daughters.
Dr. Ham is a radiologist at Roper St. Francis. He earned his B.A. and M.D. at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Ham is a Rotarian and has served as President of the Harleston Village Neighborhood Association.
Chad is a native of Chattanooga, Tennessee and graduated from the University of Virginia with a major in American Government. He served in the Reagan White House’s Office of Political Affairs and for two years as Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Mark Sanford where, amongst other things, he oversaw the implementation of the state’s first activity-based budgets. He chaired the 2007 Government Efficiency and Accountability Review (GEAR) Commission which resulted in detailed recommendations for the Budget and Control Board with half a billion dollars in estimated savings.
Shortly after college, Chad and two high school friends opened the first Sticky Fingers Restaurant in Mount Pleasant, S.C. in 1992. They eventually sold the company in 2006 after growing it to sixteen restaurants throughout the Southeast and a national line of barbecue sauces. Chad was named a 2004 Ernst and Young “Entrepreneur of the Year” for the Carolinas.
Chad has been involved in a number of other businesses and organizations as an investor, advisor, and board member including founder and past Chairman of the S.C. Club for Growth, Wings for Kids, the SC Venture Capital Authority, and as Vice Chairman of Governor Nikki Haley’s Transition Team. He was a member of the inaugural class of the Liberty Fellowship and served as Governor Nikki Haley’s appointed Chair of the South Carolina Board of Economic Advisors from 2011-2017. Chad and his wife have three children.
